University of Otago is located in Dunedin, capital of Otago Province, South Island of New Zealand. It is the oldest university in New Zealand. Founded by the New Zealand government in 1869, it is the most prestigious comprehensive public university among the eight famous universities in New Zealand. 


University of Otago ranks No. 2 in New Zealand university rankings; QS World University ranks No. 176 in 2020. University of Otago is also rated as one of the 10 most beautiful campuses in the world by the times! The bell tower of the university is a landmark building in the city of Dunedin. The building is built in imitation of the main building of the University of Glasgow. In spring, all the cherry blossoms in front of the bell tower are in full bloom. The campus is open to tourists and provides guided tours.

Employers love Otago graduates. 95% of Otago graduates go straight into work or further study. Otago graduates are recognized for their interpersonal and negotiating skills, conceptual and analytical skills, and independent judgment. 


The two universities have agreed to work together to offer international study options for students of DUFE. UO agrees to accept students from DUFE for advanced entry into its Bachelor of Commerce program provided they meet the required entry requirements of UO and they have passed the required pre-requisite courses at DUFE. Students transferring to Otago on this program will be provided with credit towards Otago's Bachelor of Commerce degree.
