A year ago, a 17 year old girl from Ukraine decided to step out of her comfort zone and try to change her life in all aspects. She moved to Dalian, China. Yeah, this girl was me ,full of emotions but also full of fear. Different culture, language and people.

 But as soon as I arrived two guys from our university staff was waiting for me at the airport. Even though I was really tired they made me laugh during the whole trip to my new home talking about the university life.  I was so excited and could not wait for the first day of school. From the first day I started to get to know other students and was really amazed that we had so much in common and everyone was always ready to give you a helping hand despite the fact that we gathered from different parts of the world and have a cultural difference. There are also no difficulties with language as we are studying at a international university, all of us can speak English. But at the same time we can increase our knowledge of Chinese language by talking with the native speakers. Our professors are full of experience and desire to give us all their knowledge. I can truly say that our professors are our friends, you can always ask them for help and they will not give up on you. 

At our university we are paying attention on our studies but we do not forget to have fun. We have a lot of activities, trips and festivals. I was taking part at one of the festivals dancing with our university team.  It was unforgettable, coming here I’ve learnt so much about myself, the university life and this wonderful culture. Thank you for such an opportunity.
